E&J Brandy Manufacturing and Distillation Process
How we do what we do
We're serious about making good brandy, and the process of manufacturing good brandy takes two things: quality ingredients and the skills to know what to do with them. Fortunately, we've got both. Here's how E&J Brandy comes to life.
It all starts with the grape. And we pick the best we can find (French Colombard, Grenache, Barbera, Pinot Grigio and Muscat, to name a few) at the ideal ripeness for making brandy.
Great brandy can only be made from great wine. Our fermentation process is designed to produce quality wine that's perfect for crafting brandy.
We distill our dry wine for 45 days so we can keep the aromas and complex flavors of each grape we use.
With age comes flavor. We age our brandy in American Oak barrels and taste throughout the aging process to ensure quality.
Each E&J brandy – VS, VSOP, XO, Peach and Apple – are blended to get the exact flavor we're looking for from each.
