The E&J Way

As passionate brandymakers, we think of brandy as the crowning achievement of the winemaking process. In our world, quality brandy can only be made from quality wine.

With that in mind, we make brandy that delivers the distinctive natural aromas and flavors of the fine grape varieties we use from California's top winegrowing regions. From French Colombard to Grenache and Barbera, each variety is selected for its ability to age and develop nuanced flavors.

We begin by making great varietal wines that are distilled and matured in separate lots, providing a veritable spice rack of brandy styles for blending. We then age our brandies in seasoned oak barrels in a temperature-controlled environment. Our brandymakers continually taste from the barrels, assessing the quality and maturity of each lot, before blending our VS, VSOP and XO Brandies.
